Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains, the Rockies in short, divide western United States of America from the Great Plains. The Rocky Mountain states contain many of the country's greatest national parks, Indigenous American communities, and a vivant Old West heritage. The Rockies also extend into northern New Mexico and north-central Utah (both however are considered part of the Southwest region). The Canadian Rockies are located in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia north of the U.S. states of Washington, Idaho and Montana.

Starting in Estes Park (Colorado) and finishing in Glacier of Montana I experienced one of the most beautiful roads trips you can make in the US. The region's Native American story brings to life landscapes where tribes lived and hunted for thousands of years in a land littered with poignant battlefield memorials. he realm of grizzlies and wolves, elk and bison. Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks are simply extraordinary, and there are few limits on possible ways to get out and explore them

Seeing wildlife in these national parks evokes a rush of excitement so great it's hard to remember there isn't a piece of glass between you and the animals. The roads take visitors through lowland meadows and aspen groves, along swift-flowing rivers and up through subalpine forests to more than 12,000 feet in elevation. The Rocky Mountains states is made up of wild, rugged, and unforgiving landscapes.
